AGM meeting December 2025. 

At the AGM meeting, after the business part of the meeting, refreshments were provided and examples of Christmas decorations made from materials gathered from gardens and woods were shown and materials provided for everyone to make their own. The craft part of the evening was led by Cynthia, one of our members, who showed us some amazing examples of her work.  It was an evening with much laughter and chat - much enjoyed by members. Awards were made for the Flower of the month for 2024/25 (Sheelagh Canney), and an RHS recognition certificate to Annie for her outstanding contribution to the Garden Club.

August visit to Childerley


More than 20 members and guests visited Childerley at the end of August, and enjoyed a tour of the gardens and of the King Charles 1 room where Charles 1 stayed for three nights in 1647.  The gardens were created by Chloe and John Jenkins who came to Childerley in 1957, and members of the family still farm the estate and maintain the buildings and grounds.  After our tours we were treated to tea and cake, and the opportunity to explore the gardens further.

Club outing to Bressingham Gardens


About 23 club members and friends went by coach to visit Bressingham gardens on Tuesday 24th June.  We were treated to coffee and cake on arrival, followed by a tour of the gardens by Adrian Bloom.  Lunch was available in the garden centre cafe, and there was plenty of time to explore the gardens individually and take in the wonderful planting before we were driven home by our lovely coach driver Nina.

Flower and Produce Show - June 2025


The Flower and Produce Show was held on Saturday 24th June in the Great Barn, Manor Farm.  We are very grateful to be able to use this wonderful venue, which looks really beautiful decorated for the show.  We had a wonderful raffle with donations from local garden centres, club members and friends.  Thanks to all who supported the show in any way, and of course to all of those who entered, despite the rather challenging hot and dry weather this spring.

We are very grateful to our experienced judge, who gives her time to very carefully assess (or taste) all the entries.

Congratulations to all prize winners, and especially to Geraldine Heath - winner of the Silver Plate (most points in show) and to Pam Smith (best exhibit in show).
